Chevy Chase, Md.-based auto insurance giant GEICO announced Lona Montgomery has been named assistant vice president of centralized services in the company’s Macon, Ga., regional office. Montgomery previously served as director of sales and service in the company’s Coralville, Iowa, office.
In her new assignment, she will oversee GEICO’s centralized services division, which handles functions such as emergency road service, mechanical breakdown insurance, glass losses and accounts receivable for the entire organization. Montgomery began her career in GEICO’s San Diego regional office in 1990.
GEICO (Government Employees Insurance Company), a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies, provides millions of auto insurance quotes to U.S. drivers annually. The company serves more than 12 million private passenger customers and insures more than 20 million vehicles (auto & cycle).
