Canal Insurance Co. in Greenville, South Carolina, has named Tim Horgan as vice president, Transportation, and chief marketing officer, and Bob Pace, vice president and chief claims officer, to the executive leadership team.
Horgan assumes profit and loss accountability for all Canal’s trucking and specialty automobile business except the large fleet unit. Horgan will also be responsible for all phases of marketing, agency relations and communication. He comes to Canal after a career that has included underwriting, marketing and regional management at Continental, followed by nearly 20 years in AIG’s transportation business, the last seven as profit center head.
Pace, as chief claims officer, will provide leadership for Canal’s claims organization. Pace joins Canal after a career that has included 11 years as a practicing attorney, followed by 12 years in the Travelers Insurance claims department, the last six of which as chief claims officer for Northland. Pace’s last role in the Travelers organization was to lead the Northfield underwriting organization.
Canal specializes in insurance for commercial trucking and specialty transportation through professional agents.
