An Alabama man has refiled his lawsuit claiming a botched circumcision led to the amputation of his penis.
An attorney for Johnny Lee Banks Jr. filed an amended complaint this past Monday. It comes about a month after a judge in Birmingham threw out the original lawsuit for not meeting legal standards for malpractice cases.
The new lawsuit by Banks and his wife says the medical procedure occurred in February, not June as originally claimed.
The new suit also adds another doctor as a defendant.
Lawyers for the doctors and a hospital where Banks contends the procedure was performed deny any wrongdoing. They say all the allegations in the lawsuit are false.
Banks originally filed suit in July claiming his penis was wrongly removed during what was supposed to be a circumcision.
