Florida Court: GEICO on Hook for $100,000 in Additional Attorney Fees

    Am I reading this right? Hollingsworth paid over $100k in attorney fees to win $16k?

      I was thinking the same thing. Also, was Geico even involved in the defense of their insured? If so, I believe they would have settled it long before it reached this point.

    If this holds up on appeal there will be many other $16,000 cases with $100,000 attorney fees in Florida – until GEICO can get new policy language filed and approved.

    If insurance companies paid individuals what they should be paid following an accident, they would not end up in court. Insurance companies should be held liable for the attorney fees. Insurance companies are notorious for holding out on people. We pay our insurance bills but when it comes time to collect, they don’t want to help you. Shame on you Geico, you should pay along with all the other insurance companies sticking it to the little guys.
