Some 48 people were uninjured after a charter bus erupted into flames on an interstate near the Mall of Georgia.
Gwinnett Fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge says the fire started near the engine compartment toward the back of the bus Friday afternoon. Rutledge says the bus carrying the 48 people was one of three traveling along Interstate-85.
Rutledge says the cause of the fire is still undetermined. No one was injured and the passengers were placed on the two other buses.
Rutledge says the destination of where the buses were heading or coming from is unknown. The blaze caused heavy damage to the bus.
Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Department of Transportation will handle the investigation
