Members of the Professional Insurance Agents of Georgia (PIA of Georgia) elected Hamilton Tillman serve as president at their annual meeting held at Lake Oconee, Georgia.
Tillman is president of Tillman Insurance Agency, Valdosta, Ga., and specializes in business insurance and works with clients including construction, bonds, and general business insurance.
Tillman Insurance provides a variety of insurance services including commercial, personal auto & homeowners and life insurance with more than 50 national carriers.

Tillman previously worked for the Commercial Union Insurance Company in Boston. At Commercial Union he completed the commercial underwriter training program in Wenham, Mass. After the training program Tillman worked as a multi-line underwriter in the Boston branch office for both the standard and large accounts departments. After returning to Valdosta,
Hamilton earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1985 and his Certified Risk Manager in 2002.
Currently, Tillman is licensed in Georgia as a property & casualty agent, a life and health agent and as an insurance counselor.
Others elected as officers of PIA were: President-elect – P.K. Martin, IV (Hood Insurance Agency of Lawrenceville); Vice-president – Lorie M. Yauney, SPHR (J. Smith Lanier & Co. of West Point); Treasurer – John T. Franks (Franks & Associates of College Park); and Secretary – Mike Kaplan (BB&T Insurance Services of Macon); National Director – Victor Hamby (Hamby & Aloisio of Atlanta).
PIA of Georgia was founded in 1937 as the Mutual Insurance Agents of Georgia and has operated continuously for the past 79 years. In addition to working with more than 47,000 insurance agents in Georgia, PIA is the sole provider and facilitator of designation courses through The National Alliance.
