November 14, 2016

Authorities have charged a restaurant owner in Lewis County, Tenn., with setting fire to his business for the insurance money.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Thursday that Nick Spicer set fire to Nick and Bubba’s Beer, Butts and Clucks in Hohenwald on July 24.

Officials with the TBI, the Hohenwald Fire Department and the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance investigated the case.

A grand jury on Monday indicted the 35-year-old Spicer on one count of arson and one count of insurance fraud. He is out of jail on $20,000 bond.

It is not immediately clear if Spicer has a lawyer.
