I sometimes wonder how stupid people are that they don’t research to see what happened last time someone did what they want to do.
I grew up in Brevard county Florida, just south of the Space Center. This past year, Hurricane Irma added sand to our beaches. But back in the late 70’s, or early 80’s we had lost a lot of sand from erosion. Much like Flagler, we decided to truck in tons of sand. The next big storm to come by took every bit of that new sand, and deposited it a couple hundred feet offshore creating an artificial sand bar. This sand bar pushed sharks closer to the shore to feed and increased shark attacks. It wasn’t safe to swim in the waters down here for years.
