Authorities in Alabama say nine people were injured when a deck collapsed during a house fire.
Birmingham Fire Battalion Chief Sebastian Carrillo tells local news outlets that the accident happened Saturday night when a fire started in the house.
The people ran outside onto the porch to escape the fire. The porch collapsed under this added weight.
Three people were taken to the hospital to be treated for first-degree and second-degree burns.
Six other people had minor injuries from the fall.
The deck was about 8 feet (2.4 meters) off the ground.
