Authorities in North Carolina say one person is dead and two people are hurt after a barrier collapsed at a construction site.
News outlets report the N.C. Department of Labor said the accident occurred Tuesday at a site where affordable housing was being built on the north side of Raleigh near Triangle Town Center shopping mall.
Police have not identified the victims.
WRAL-TV in Raleigh reports emergency personnel and labor officials said workers and others at the scene were able to pull two of the buried workers to safety, but weren’t able to dig the third person out from under the dirt.
The two injured workers were taken to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, but information about their conditions wasn’t known Tuesday afternoon.
