South Carolina Man Arrested for Stealing $700K from 10 HOAs

November 7, 2019

Authorities in South Carolina say a man has been accused of stealing more than $700,000 from 10 separate homeowners associations.

News outlets report 39-year-old Nicholas Galipeau turned himself in Wednesday and was charged with ten counts of breach of trust.

Greenville County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Ryan Flood says an investigation began on Oct. 1 after a housing community reported that their HOA funds were missing.

Flood says Galipeau was in charge of those funds as owner of Commercial Management Company LLC. Flood says the investigation revealed Galipeau stole from 10 different communities over the last three years.

It’s unclear whether Galipeau has an attorney who can comment on his behalf.
