Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies has added Georgia and Utah to the list of states where the insurer offers its homeowners product. With these additions, the company now offers its personal lines products in 22 states with plans for further expansion throughout the year.
GUARD’s product targets dwellings valued over $75,000 and includes one- to four-family residences, renters, and condo units (both owner-occupied and those held for rental).
According to assistant vice president of Personal Lines Joseph Walton, policyholders can mix and match policy forms, endorsements, and optional coverages aimed at broader protection to obtain property insurance suited to their circumstances.
A personal umbrella with limits up to $5 million is also available.
Products feature a variety of discounts, including one for insureds who have commercial policies with Berkshire Hathaway Guard.
