The National Weather Services said a violent storm that damaged more than 30 homes in Tennessee last week was an EF-1 tornado, The Paris Post-Intelligencer reported.
No deaths and only one minor injury were reported from the tornado that cut a 7-to-8 mile long track through Henry County with wind speeds of 95-100 miles per hour.
The storm knocked down power lines and trees and damaged 32 homes, including three mobile homes that were destroyed, county Emergency Management Director Ronald Watkins told the newspaper. One home rolled off its foundation with a family with two children inside, injuring one person, Watkins said.
In addition, Two commercial buildings were destroyed. Lakeway Auto Sales was flattened with several classic cars damaged. The Mule Barn had one of its venues destroyed.
Watkins said the American Red Cross is offering assistance, but because Henry County was the only one affected by the storm, federal disaster assistance was unlikely.
