
McGriff, a major U.S. insurance broker, has named Arkansas-area executive Will Thames to lead its operations in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Truist-owned insurance subsidiary said it has identified Charlotte as an emerging flagship insurance operation. Before joining McGriff, Thames was an executive vice president at Brown and Brown in Florida.
Thames assumes his new role as a managing executive in Charlotte on Sept. 1.

McGriff also said that it had hired Jason Dockery as senior vice president for its real estate and hospitality practice.
Dockery previously oversaw real estate and hospitality practice for a global insurer. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and has 20 years of experience in the P/C industry.
