BoMont Group, an insurance brokerage and consulting firm based in Birmingham, Alabama, has named a former Floridian as president of the company.
Griffin Smith, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Chipola College in Marianna, Florida, and started his insurance career in the state, took over as president of BoMont in August, the company said in a news release. Smith is now working toward his his law degree at Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama.
Smith also was previously vice president of property and casualty brokerage at USI Insurance in Birmingham. He has specialized in complex insurance programs, alternative risk transfer and management liability programs.
BoMont said it is a boutique insurance broker that specializes in commercial insurance, risk management, consulting and claims for transportation, real estate, manufacturing and warehousing, forest products, marine and aviation industries.
