W.R. Berkley Corp., one of the largest commercial lines writers, has named Paul Stock president of its subsidiary, Carolina Casualty, a provider of coverage products for the transportation industry.

Stock has been divisional president at Carolina Casualty since May 2025. He is credited with transforming the claims and risk management departments there, W.R. Berkley said in a news release. Before that, Stock was president of Verikai, an analytics and Insurtech firm that was sold to American Financial Group.
He also was vice president at National Interstate Insurance Co., and started his career as a claims examiner at Geico, his Linkedin page shows.
Carolina Casualty provides tailored transportation insurance solutions and is admitted all 50 states.
Lifetime Achievement
Tom Lynch, a familiar name among Florida insurers and agents, was honored at the recent Florida Association of Insurance Agents convention, with the association’s Mitchell Stallings Lifetime Achievement Award.
“After more than 55 years in the business and countless contributions at both the local and state level, this recognition could not be more well deserved,” said Connor Lynch, CEO of the 107-year-old Plastridge Insurance, based in Delray Beach and where Lynch is chairman emeritus of the agency.
“I so admired past recipients of this award, which makes this honor all the more significant,” Lynch said in a statement.
Lynch took the helm of Plastridge in 1974. The agency has four south Florida offices and offers commercial and personal lines coverage and employee benefits.
Lynch has long been known as a strong advocate for the independent agency system and the FAIA. He also was appointed to the Citizens Property Insurance Corp. Board of Governors in 2009 and was reappointed in 2011. He served as mayor of Delray Beach from 1990 to 1996, was chairman of the Palm Beach County School Board and was commissioner, mayor, and vice mayor of the Village of Golf, Florida.
The FAIA also honored past association Chair Cindy Webster with its Chairman’s Award.
