The Colorado Division of Insurance is fining Aetna U.S. Healthcare Inc., Cigna Healthcare of Colorado Inc. and three other insurance companies for violating state insurance laws by failing to process claims accurately or on time.
Aetna has been fined $40,000 and Cigna $5,500, based on market conduct examination reports. Corporate Health Insurance Co., an affiliate of Aetna, is being fined $12,000, Mid-West National Life Insurance Company of Tennessee $40,500 and Principal Life Insurance Company $18,750.
