Thomas W. Hayes, who previously served as the 27th Treasurer of California as well as a director of finance under former California Governor Pete Wilson, has joined International Catastrophe Insurance Managers LLC’s advisory committee.
Hayes currently serves as president of Metropolitan West, an asset management firm located in Los Angeles. MetWest manages more than $40 billion in assets from offices throughout the U.S.
Seven years ago, Hayes took over responsibility for reworking Orange County’s bankrupt investment pool. He oversaw the replacement of more than $8 billion of high-risk investments with a stable, liquid fund, and recovered more than $870 million in litigation settlements for the county.
