Effective July 1, 2001, John L. Garibaldi will assume the position of president and CEO of Zephyr Insurance Company, which provides hurricane property insurance coverage to Hawaii residents and homeowners effective.
Garibaldi joins Zephyr after a year’s hiatus from his position as executive vice president and CFO of Hawaiian Airlines. He previously served as a trustee of the Queen Emma Foundation, vice president and CFO of The Queen’s Health Systems, and senior vice president and CFO of Aloha Airlines.
In other Zephyr news, Jeanette Caldeira, vice president of marketing, was promoted to executive vice president and chief underwriting and marketing officer.
Finally, Zephyr has named Maureen Soronaka, formerly of Noguchi and Associates as its Underwriting Manager. Soronaka joins Zephyr to continue to build depth in the underwriting department as it enters its second year of policy writing.
