In an effort to stem the tide of departing obstetrics and gynecological physicians leaving Clark County, Physician’s IPA announced it is increasing the rate of insurance reimbursement to its OBGYN doctors.
The Physician’s IPA board of directors voted to increase the reimbursement for services of obstetrics and gynecological physicians. “We hope this will help ease financial burdens in light of Southern Nevada’s continued medical malpractice insurance crisis,” said Dr. James Lovett, president of the board of directors for Physician’s IPA.
“This year has been dramatic for local doctors, especially obstetrics and gynecological physicians,” added Dr. Robert Shreck, also on the board of directors. “Although the increase in reimbursement for OBGYN providers impacts the financial performance of Physician’s IPA, we feel obligated to do our part to support local doctors and help keep them in Las Vegas.”
Physician’s IPA has approximately 1,200 primary care and specialty doctors on its network, including 40 OBGYN physicians.
