As part of The St. Paul Companies’ continued expansion into the small business insurance marketplace, the company announced recently the opening of a Commercial Service Center for its small business customers and insurance agents in the western region of the United States. The new service center, located in Colorado Springs, Co., follows the 2002 opening of the company’s Atlanta Service Center and provides expanded hours of operation and service to respond to agent and customer requests.
The debut of the Colorado Springs Service Center is part of The St. Paul’s ongoing commitment to provide exceptional customer service while reducing the amount of time agents and brokers spend on small business account maintenance. “Our agents and brokers told us they want to work with a carrier that can help them write small business accounts quickly, easily and profitably, and we’ve delivered,” said Marc Schmittlein, president of Small Commercial. “Time is money for our agents and brokers, and our Service Centers take much of the burden of small business insurance account maintenance off the shoulders of our distributors so they can focus on growing their business.”
The Service Centers are staffed by licensed customer service representatives, most of whom have prior insurance experience. The Centers offer small business customers and agents a variety of services, including policy changes, access to safety and claims information, and billing inquiries. Customers and agents also have 24-hour online access to account and claims information.
