A new political action committee of injured workers launched a statewide campaign to voice their concerns on workers’ compensation issues, according to the Sacramento Bee.
VotersInjuredatWork.org will demonstrate outside of 18 workers’ comp appeals boards throughout California and will also make a demonstration outside of the office of State Senator Chuck Poochigian. Poochigian was the sponsor of SB 899, legislation that overhauled California’s troubled workers’ comp system.
The committee has reportedly received seed money from the California Applicant Attorneys Association, but a spokesperson for the group said that the committee will subsist on $25 annual membership dues.
