Stewart Title of California (STC) is looking to become a player in the property and casualty insurance industry with the launch of Stewart of California Insurance and Financial Services (SIFS). Recently approved by California’s Department of Insurance, SIFS reportedly represents a comprehensive portfolio of insurance carriers, including Allied Insurance, The Hartford and Travelers.
“As an independent insurance agency, SIFS works with more than 45 A-rated insurance companies nationwide to get the lowest, most competitive rates for each individual customer or business,” said Mark McCormick, executive vice president and chief financial officer, SIFS.
In addition to the traditional home, auto, motorcycle and life policies, SIFS, through its various underwriters, also offers a variety of more specialized insurance products, such as personal liability, umbrella policies and individual health plans.
SIFS’ array of commercial insurance products include course of construction and group health, as well as the more specialized errors and omissions (E&O) insurance.
