Michael Van Gilder has been appointed CEO of Denver-based Van Gilder Insurance Corp. Van Gilder, who has served on the board of directors as managing director for more than 10 years, succeeds his father, Dell Van Gilder Jr., who has served as Chairman and CEO for the past 30 years. Michael will become the fourth generation to lead the 101-year-old organization.
Dell Van Gilder, Jr. will continue to be a visible leader of the organization as chairman of the board. The overall structure of the organization will remain unchanged, operating with three distinct divisions. Jerry Ray is president of corporate operations; Matt Coleman is president of commercial lines; Bill Behan is managing director, along with Larry Mattiello, president of AirSure Ltd., are responsible for the aviation division of the organization.
Michael brings more than 15 years experience in the insurance industry.
