Let\’s see……..$6 Mil in three years of restuarant insurance business, with no claims mentioned I\’m surprised no one thought of a book transfer with that good of loss ratio – oh, that\’s right, probably couldn\’t get loss runs – but then what company would want to take business from a bunch of agents dumb enough to do business with a sleazeball just to get a \”low price\”. There would have been a nice annual contingent though since they were still legal back in 2000.
Our office got caught up in this trap when we purchased a local agency. We are out aproximately $10,000 that we reimbursed to the client in good faith when all this fraud came to light. My boss could not let the insured suffer as a result. I am curious on how the honest brokers might get reimbursed. Anyone out there know.
Just desserts for this criminal. I think he\’ll last longer in prison than he would being released to a waiting crowd of legitimate producers. We could all thank him (so to speak) for painting us in the public eye with the same broad brush, while stealing income from us at the same time.
No doubt his so-called product had the lowest price on the street, so he took real and potential income from many of you producers trying to compete against him, only because you had to use legitimate programs and real-world pricing. Unfortunately, the lowest price too often takes the account, so he clearly won many battles along the way by hitting below the belt. Prison is actually too good for that man, in my opinion.

For the person who called agents dumb. It just so happened our agency bought another agents business. The policies we wrote were renewals. Did did not need loss runs. So not all of us are as dumb as you think. I understand this guy had a whole operation going on including a several offices and claims. You might want to think before you put agents down without all the details. The prior agent had the policies in force for three years with one having a paid claim….Thank God there were only a few involved in our agency. But there was one poor agent who we understand had over 400 in force….Rather than put a agency you might to have some sympathy, could happen to you someday. It is called Karma for being mean…
