Calabasas, Calif.-based Maverick Commercial Insurance Services, a wholesale brokerage firm operating in California, Nevada and Arizona, has hired Matthew Gomez as a broker.
Gomez will specialize in property and casualty insurance, focusing on hard-to-place general liability for contractors e.g., artisans, general contractors, wraps, as well as excess and umbrella coverage including transportation excess. He will also be involved with other general liability and property lines products including restaurants/taverns/night clubs, hotels/motels, importers, manufacturing and fabrications and various other classes. For property risks, he will be specializing on DIC coverage, wind, flood and earthquake.
Gomez brings more than five years experience in wholesale specialty and surplus lines insurance. He started his insurance career with James G Parker in the retail side, and for the past five years, has worked as a surplus lines broker in the Los Angeles area.
