In California, Farmers used to be the King of Condo writers. That lasted for about 10 years and then when the losses piled up, and the scumbag attorneys found a way to get policies to pay for extortion…er, faulty workmanship, Farmers bailed out of the market so fast our heads are still spinning. Enjoy the production numbers and good press while you can. It ain’t gonna last too long.

Any self respecting independent agent that can’t compete – and beat the tar out of – Farmers (on commercial product knowledge alone), should not be in the business. Figures lie and liers figure…….at least in Washington!

So THAT’S how they did it – they snapped up all of the artisan contractors that Safeco dropped like hot potatoes two years ago, right? Yeah, they’ll bail on that soon, for the same reason Safeco did – the faulty construction claims exposure.

Like the Condo programs, Farmers was dynamite with apartment policies until they took their 457% increase on the liability portion a few years ago.

Current independent agent for 20 years who is former top producer in US for Farmers. They will get in and then they will get out. That is why I became an independent.
