I’d forget about the lawyers – we all know they’re maggots. What about the a-hole judge, who approved their fee? Who reviews his jurisprudence? One more scumbag!
The people who allegedly actually sustained economic harm get $300-$500 under very specific conditions, and the bottom feeding attorneys get $25,000,000?
It took the plaintiffs attorneys SEVEN YEARS OF LITIGATION to win their clients these paltry, worthless vouchers? Maybe they just spent that time counting the money and arguing about their salaries.
Are these people so stupid that they actually thought they might get a big settlement from this? Once again, the only winner here is the plantiff’s attorneys. These people got what they deserve.
“Diminution in value” is only a viable argument when you actually sell the vehicle and there is objective evidence to support it. Unlike a vehicle that is severely damaged and extensively repaired, the “theory” that the Explorer is worth less because of the rollover propensity would have to be supported. It sounds like the settlement didn’t cost much bottomline. I wonder how the dirtbags who took the case will squeeze money out for their fee? Maybe they’ll get multiple coupons for a discount on their next Ford. Poetic justice.
The outcome is a great marketing campaign for Ford. It gives 800,000 people a reason to buy a Ford or Lincoln.
It is unfortunate that the lawyers weren’t compensated in vouchers as well.
It’s amazing that people never stop to think that awards are handed out in something other than cash. Great settlement, I hope the lawyers choke on their money and everyone in the class tells everyone they know to never file a class action suit.

Now, plaintiffs should realize class-action lawsuit is waiting time and useless unless it’s directly related to your health.

when used as directed. Only in America could a group sue for perceived diminished value and win.

Are these attorneys from the class action mill that has had several guilty members for fraud?
I find this settlement hilarious and that the pltfs will receive bascially nothing makes this story even funnier. These pltfs are a bunch of douches.
