The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a driver arrested after a hit-and-run wreck on a Phoenix-area freeway had been involved in 10 accidents before he stopped.
Tempe police arrested 46-year-old Rosendo Duenas of Phoenix at about 7 p.m. April 26 after he was involved in the final wreck on the Loop 202 near Rural Road.
DPS spokesman Bart Graves says while DPS officers were processing him on suspicion of driving under the influence they learned Duenas had been involved in a series of wrecks on local freeways and city streets. Five happened on freeways, including a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist, and five on Phoenix city streets.
Duenas is being held on suspicion of aggravated assault, 12 counts of endangerment and Super DUI.
