Big mistake. Streets are designed and intended for normal sized vehicles. These “off road” machines lack sufficient lighting and passenger protection to put them on par with normal vehicles. When the collisions and deaths start to mount up maybe these geniuses will re-think their decision.

That’s great. Risks and benefits. I would anticipate severe injuries from likely collisions with our current vehicles on the street. But, when current motorized vehicles started to replace buggies, except in some parts of Pa. where there’s peaceful co-existence on the thoroughfares, there has been greater human carnage between them, than between the buggies and present day vehicles. I hope to see golf carts added to the list. But, that would likely to drop the price of fuel and subsequently increase more of our cars, trucks, trailers, out in the streets and highways. Increasing the probability of collision with the slower moving, fuel saving golf carts, ATV’s, dirt bikes, etc. We as a country that cherishes personal freedoms must do something. This is a sure-fire way to loosen the yokes off our backs as a result of our addiction on foreign governments to dictate our lifestyles. NCTPBSOYA (nothing comes to pass by sitting on your *ss; VFP-63 F8 Crusader Navy Squadron slogan in Miramar NAS; late ’60’s). We can not afford to be idle. It is not a fool hardy idea. However, I do not foresee communities forbidding cars, trucks, etc. (like Michigan’s Mackinaw’s Grand Hotel Island) popping across America. But, we could be heading that way. In that scenario, the auto insurance industry, lawyers dependent of personal injury cases, small insurance agencies and their employess, would surely feel the pinch. There’s just too many parasitic service industries dependent on the current status quo. Change however may be beneficial; a case where at this point it may serve well to back up 15 yards and punt.
