William (Bill) Murphy has joined San Diego, Calif.-based Barney & Barney as the newest principal. Murphy will serve as director of sales for the Employee Benefits Department. Formerly a senior market manager at Unum, Murphy comes to Barney & Barney with more than 25 years of health and welfare experience in underwriting, sales and sales management.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, Murphyl holds a degree in Economics, and holds the professional designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Prior to joining Unum, Bill was with Met Life, Reliance Standard and Cigna.
