“In Florence, Jeff Chastain, owner of C&M Stables in Florence, says new restrictions protecting snow plovers mean he must cut the number of daily rides from eight to four, limit the number of riders on the beach to no more than 15 at a time, and never ride more than three abreast.”

well, now we talk about horses, and then we get to snow plows? um…um.. have you ever seen a snowplow on the BEACH?! next thing they will restrict is pets on the beach.

The article said snow plovers ( not snow plows) I think they meant Snowy Plovers “The Western snowy plover is a small, threatened shorebird, approximately the size of a sparrow.”

This reminds me of the “problem” of a small private airpark just north of Clearwater Fla. Originally in a rural area, people buy or build homes right next to it and then whine to the City to do something about the noise and safety concerns. “‘stupidity’ flourishes when good men do nothing”.

Is it just me or aren’t there more accidents from quads (or 3 wheelers0 being on the beach than horses?? Shouldn’t they limit those before they limit the horses?? Horses seem to fit the scene more than the quads. I agree with baby mama, diaper the horses? That is nature at it’s finest. If people dont’ like it, they can go/drive elsewhere.
