an earthquake will happen and you are going to feel it right away. it’s not like a projected hurrican or possibly an exploding volcano. a few seconds of noise will just be enough to annoy you like the car alarms in cars! they won’t heed to it or make a move otherwise. waste of money!
speaking as someone residing in CA… even a few seconds could mean the difference between getting to your desigated “safe” area and not realizing what is happening until it is too late. I was halfway through my first earthquake before i realized what was actually happening… by the time i moved to a safer area, it was over. i was thankful it wasn’t more severe.
