Calif. Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner announced that he has reappointed Lee Pearson of Rancho Murieta, and Bruce Wick of San Bernardino, to the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau Governing Committee. Pearson is being reappointed to a position representing organized labor. Wick is being reappointed to a position representing insured employers.
Pearson has served on the WCIRB Governing Committee since his original appointment date in August 2009. He is currently retired and most recently served as the general vice president of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers. He has represented labor since 1978, starting as a business representative at a local lodge. Pearson’s entire career has been in labor, working in a number of capacities.
Wick has served on the Governing Committee since his original appointment date in August 2008. He is the director of risk management for the California Professional Association of Specialty Contractors. He previously held a fire and casualty broker-agent license from 1991 until 1999.
The WCIRB Governing Committee is comprised of 12 members: seven private insurers; State Compensation Insurance Fund; and four public members, two representing insured employers and two representing organized labor. Except for SCIF, insurer members are elected for two-year terms by the membership at the annual meeting, while public members are appointed for two-year terms by the Insurance Commissioner.
