The California Manufacturers and Technology Association (CMTA) and CompWest Insurance Company have formed a partnership to provide a group workers’ compensation program for California’s manufacturing sector. The program will be effective July 1, 2010 and will include over 120 classes of manufacturers.
CMTA has maintained a group workers’ compensation insurance program since 2004; assisting its members to develop safe workplaces and lower their workers’ compensation costs. Additionally, CMTA continues to work to protect the workers’ compensation reforms passed into law in 2003.
In 2009 CMTA completed a thorough evaluation of the needs and performance of its workers’ compensation group. After examining the incumbent and prospective partners, CMTA selected CompWest as the insurance company partner to take the program into the future. CompWest’s capabilities and commitment to California’s manufacturers was carefully evaluated prior to being selected by CMTA.
