here is a twist for you I worked at this facility from 1993 till 2004 this facility was deemed the safest refinery in the world when it was owned by shell oil corporation. safety was top priority we sat thru hundreds of safety meeting with one of the biggest jack asses in the world when it came to employee safety and if you failed to follow the rule you were gone that day and fired permanently so I find this story hard to believe, I did not work for shell I was a contractor on a long term contract shell demanded excellence in 1995 I received the high award you can get from them for safety. shell merged with Texaco and was force by the state and the federal government to sell the refinery because Arco was crying about the merger what horseshit if anyone should have been fined it should have been the people who cause the issue in the first place our government shell was forced to sell to an inexperience company to shut up Arco. if the government would of kept there big ass nose out of thing this would of never happened ever this refinery was Tesoro’s first major facility. and now we all know exactly what will happen when you force change to something that ran perfect for over 80 plus years without a single incident thank to that asswipes decision 7 of my personal friends are dead and the wrong people got blamed for something uncle Sam caused in the first place
