“Opponents argue the workers will still get injured, and hospitals will have to pick up the tab for treating them in emergencies.” Get the illegals in stable condition, send the bill to the company that hired them, send the illegal back to the country they came from.

This is a great idea! At least MT is being proactive.

Unsurprising to see such narrow-minded, knee-jerk dribble in reaction to this news article. I say send the narrow-minded reactionary who penned the comment back to the country of the immigrant’s origin, and keep the hard working immigrant in the U.S. to keep our gene pool vigorous! Our country did not get to where it is today as a world leader by excluding those in need or those beyond the fringe.

Sounds like a no brainer to me. I thought it was already against the law to gift tax based funds to anyone or anything. Wouldn’t the RICO statutes prevent rewarding unlawful behaviors and groups?

I can just imagine the audits in which insured’s would (rightfully) argue that much of their payroll ought to be excluded, since they hire undocumented workers. Which would, of course, only encourage those employers to hire more undocumented workers, to save money on their workers’ compensation premiums.

This is, at best, a half-baked idea. Unless and until significant fines and penalties are assessed against employers who hire undocumented workers, nothing will change. There has to be a serious economic dis-incentive.

What a fantastic idea!! Way to go MT! Get legal or get out! And if you are a company that is going to hire someone illeagal….you should pay the price for any of lifes “what if’s” cause I sure don’t want to be the one stuck with the bill! Don’t forget Mr. company that hires someone illeagal that there is probably an American Citizen down the road who needs a job very badly.
