Willis North America has named Ric Burwell as construction practice leader of northern California.
Burwell, who takes over immediately, will be based in San Francisco.
Willis, a unit of U.K. insurance firm Willis Group Holdings, provides employee benefits and risk management solutions in several industries, including construction. It has over 100 associates located in its offices in San Francisco, Concord, Sacramento and San Jose.
Burwell will oversee the operations and administration of Willis’ construction practice in the region, focusing on business development and aligning resources to deliver solutions to clients. Burwell reports to Bill Creedon, national partner of the western region of Willis North America.
Burwell has more than 30 years of insurance and construction experience. Prior to joining Willis, he was a risk manager at Teichert Inc. He has also held leadership roles at California Association for Parks & Recreation, Butler & Associates Insurance Agency, Zurich Financial Services, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. and Travelers Insurance.
