Federal safety regulators have proposed $75,600 in penalties for a Montana manufacturing company over alleged workplace hazards.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Fiberglass Structures, Inc. of Laurel was cited for 12 serious violations.
Among the alleged violations were exposing workers to fire and explosion hazards, inadequate safety equipment, failure to provide adequate training and improper storage of chemicals.
Federal officials say the company can comply with the penalties, request negotiations or contest the findings. The violations were found during an August inspection and the citations were issued last week.
Fiberglass Structures is a subsidiary of Texas-based L.F. Manufacturing, Inc.
Company representatives say they are committed to providing a safe work environment and are reviewing the allegations.
