State Compensation Insurance Fund named Beatriz Sanchez as chief operating officer.
State Fund’s Board of Directors confirmed Sanchez’s appointment at its first meeting this year and named her to the post on Thursday.
Beatriz will provide leadership and oversight to ensure claims operations meet performance and strategic goals and are in compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements. Her responsibilities include the design and implementation of State Fund’s strategy for supporting California’s workers’ compensation reform law, SB 863.
Sanchez joined State Fund in 1987 as a claims adjuster. After several promotions, in 2008, she was named as senior vice president of southern claims operations, in charge of regional operations in Los Angeles County, the Tri-County area, the Inland Empire, and San Diego and Orange counties. She was promoted to executive vice president of claims in 2010.
