How, pray-tell, will this make the roads safer?

My guess is that it makes the roads safer because they would have to pass a driver’s test to get the Driver Card. But unless they require the Card to be renewed every 6 months and have proof of insurance every 6 months, it doesn’t mean they will constantly be insured.

I’m absolutely amazed to see how many states are saying “it’s legal to be illegal” in their state!! What is this world coming to? All elected officials in this country need to be fired and we need to start all over!!

Please by all possible means, oregonians-pass this law-it’ll make it easier to identify and deport all the illegals that are currently “in the shadows” please bring them out and one day ICE will round them up.

      How do you figure?

The Feds & ICE continually refuse to enforce Federal immigration law, and the results of LULAC/ACLU suits in states who try to enforce them are told they cannot, or that they are profiling or discriminating.

This is the kind of biased reporting we’ve come to expect. Oregonians for Immigration Reform is NOT anti-immigrant! We are opposed to ILLEGAL immigration. We want our elected officials to support and respect our nation’s laws as they pledged to do – and not be aiding and abetting violators of those laws. A Salem Statesman-Journal poll of nearly 1,000 voters came in at close to 5:1 against licenses for illegal aliens. I suspect Oregon’s voters will tell Governor Kitzhaber and his allies who rammed SB 833 through the legislature how out of touch they are on this matter.

I think it’s so sad that so many people are full of hate towards hard working illegal men and women when all they want is to make a better life for them and their children. Stop the hate, have a heart and put yourself in their shoes. Hating and beating illegal immigrants down only makes them fight that much harder. Karma you get what you put out, and if hate is what u want to spread, then hate you will one day receive.

I don’t think anyone is beating down the illegals who are doing hard work and trying to better their lives. I don’t see why these illegals cannot become legals. Obama has given them every opportunity to do so. If they see our great USA as a better place, embrace the USA and do things the right way.
I think the people on this board are not prejudice against the illegals, but rather would like to see the illegals become legal so we can weed out the terrorists and others simply taking advantage of our hand out systems.

Burnie how are u not beating down on illegals who just want to work by preventing them to get a drivers license? Why is there so much need for discrimination when all we want is to work and be normal? I don’t think a lot of people understand that a there are a lot of us who just want to make a better life, follow the rules just like everyone else and provide for our families. And Obama did not do anything to legalize all illegals. All he did was give the children of illegals who had no voice or choice in coming to this country illegally a chance to work. Which I totally appreciate as those kids are not at fault and yes our parents made a mistake and those children paid a fee for that mistake but yet we have people who want to spend more money on grouping us by not getting a drivers license? When instead of spending that money on discriminating against us they can be using it on helping Americans like veterans find jobs? But to continue to discriminate and not let our parents drive is just hate. And I just can’t understand why some people want to spend their time hating instead of helping not only their state but their own people? I am all for doing things the right way, for people who want to come to this country and want to work hard. But I’m just so sad to see how much hate there is out there on people you don’t even know. It hurts. And you don’t know how horrible it feels to be discriminated and be put in categories. I paid my fee to the government so please stop with the hate and let me and my family work and be normal.

Sorry, but what don’t you understand about being illegal? Do things the right way insofar as becoming legal and I have no problem. Our country is going the absolute wrong way insofar as saying it’s legal to be illegal. Why aren’t our laws being followed? Why do we even bother to have laws when that moron in the White House decides to enforce some and turn his back on others?

We could argue all day about this. I stated that I had no choice in coming here illegally?! Do u understand that??? And I also stated that if I could go back in time and encourage my parents to come here legally I would have. I have paid my fees for something I had no voice in. All I’m saying is why is there so much hate and discrimination. Why is there so many people like you that have so much time to hate and come up with ways to hurt someone you don’t even know? Why is it ok to discriminate on good honest hard working families? Why? I’m really trying not to be mean but when you guys go to Mexico for vacation doesn’t that seem really hypocritical of you to go down there and enjoy our country but yet you hate us when we are here to work? We are not the ones requesting special treatment it’s people like you who help to give us special treatment. Ironic is in it how you request special treatments and categories for us but then complain about it when we get these.
