A Grand Junction, Colo. woman is suing a hair salon where she worked because she says they wouldn’t give her breaks to pump breast milk.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado says it filed a lawsuit on behalf of Ashley Provino. She says she asked her boss at Big League Haircuts in Grand Junction for a short break every four hours. Provino says her boss refused and cut her schedule to less than four hours at a time.
Provino said she was later fired for calling in sick, even though she had a doctor’s note.
The ACLU says the hair salon violated anti-discrimination laws. Provino seeks unspecified damages in the lawsuit filed Monday.
A message left at the hair salon for comment was not immediately returned.
