It’s always good to register your mobile number and physical address with local emergency responders! You’ll get the most precise warnings and instructions for your area…instead of relying on social media and broadcast news for emergency information for all emergencies in your community. Did I mention that it’s free?
It is interesting to have an article warning of high risk of wildfires and then show puzzlement there haven’t been more. California has always led the league in wildfires with the annual Santa Ana winds, lack of brush control, letting people build in high risk areas etc. Then, they let the farmers crops not get water because they have to protect the Spotted Owl or Smelt fish.
I would like to know how they arrived at their numbers. I suspect there is considerable inaccuracy involved, because I suspect they used some easy method like a zip code or a county, rather than looking at individual risks. but I realize the amount of work involved is too large to be entirely accurate.
