Three people who were injured when a drunken driver crashed his truck into a northern Idaho home have filed a lawsuit against the bar where the man drank before the accident.
The Coeur d’Alene Press reported that the lawsuit on behalf of Sherri Bloom, Jeffrey Groat and Bloom’s daughter was filed in Coeur d’Alene’s 1st District Court last week.
In the lawsuit, they contend that The Corner Bar and the bar’s owners, Jack and Linda Mannschreck, are responsible for over-serving the man who crashed into the home in 2013, leaving the three badly injured. The Mannschrecks have not yet filed a response to the lawsuit and they did not immediately return phone messages left by the Associated Press.
Thomas Heinbaugh was convicted of drunken driving and sentenced to more than 8 years in prison.
