I’m suing Alberstons for their terrible vegetable selection and short shelf life.

Sounds like Haggen didn’t do its homework before the transaction and is now looking for relief to help it survive.
I would guess that some of the stores Safeway & Albertsons had to jettison were due to monopolistic conditions but some were also probably underperforming, so what did Haggen expect.

They probably picked their worst performers to sell. Haggen should have done better due diligence before agreeing to buy and lowered their price accordingly.

I have noticed a few stores that Hagens purchased. After closing for a few days, the only difference is the price–up a ton. Customers left in drives. And yes, I am sure that Albertsons was not selling their best performers and they should have known that. It’s like “duh.”
