Allstate Returns to California Homeowners Market With 12.6 Percent Reduction

    If they did not make money before and are now going back at lower rates how will they make money now? Anyone want to bet how long it is before allstate is seeking rate increases or chooses to leave the market again?

    Why would anyone want to insure with Allstate? They aren’t stable. They just increased rates in Georgia on their auto by as much as 53% but the average is 25%. A couple of years ago I read that hey were cutting as many as 7,000 agents nationwide. A few months later I read they were aggressively appointing new agents.

    Allstate charged me my tropical storm deductable of $11,800 instead of my $1,000 because I live in Virginia. Virgina was not issued any tropical storm warning or watch. However Allstate chose the much higher deductable because my “NEIGHBORING STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA was issued a warning from the NWS”. neighbor’s tree fell on my home causing over $30,000 in damages. California…Buyer beware
