Short term rental exposure is a business risk not covered in the traditional HO 3 policy. The CA legislature recognizes there is a problem, but they do not have the solution, which, by the way is not so difficult to solve. We have addressed similar societal changes in the past.
THE SOLUTION: Have ISO create an endorsement that addresses the problem for liability and property for an additional premium. The endorsement would be added to the policy upon payment of the required premiums.
