California Bill Would Shield PG&E, Edison from Some Wildfire Liability

    Sure, why not also pass legislation to retroactively get PG+E off the hook for the cancers it caused in CA (see Erin Brockovich), as well as the San Bruno gas leak explosion? Hell, let’s find even more transgressions by PG+E and Edison to legislate their liability out of, past, present, and future. Why should they be accountable for their actions? Disgusting. This makes me sick. This is irresponsible. I hope Gov. Brown vetoes this if it passes. This would be an awful precedent. Utilities need to be held accountable and liable for their actions. Yes.

    The state politicians in California treat free markets with many competitors like insurance as monopolistic utilities and protect actual monopolistic utilities from accountability. I am guessing their lobby groups are extremely persuasive.
