Central California has, for years, been a sort of “Dust Bowl” because environmentalist are trying to protect the Delta Smelt. The Delta Smelt is a very small fish that lives in one river. To save the fish, they had to stop diverting the water to irrigate the fields in central Ca. So, to save this one little fish, they turned most of California into a dry tinderbox.

Central CA uses man-made canals for farm irrigation. And there’s more than one river that runs in CA. The farmlands of central CA are green, but the little hills surrounding them dry out every year.

It cracks me up how frequently simple facts get “down votes”. You cited 2 stories that outline the problem. “NO! NOT THE TRUTH!” say the liberal loonies. We HATE the truth!

More truth from Trump’s earlier tweet this week (as crude as it was): Reason Magazine (non-partisan as non-partisan can be) reports that these large fire are the result of “forest management” that allows brush and dead trees to accumulate for years and years, creating an inferno when a fire finally starts.

Congratulations, ‘environmentalists’! (But don’t ever mention – ever – that Trump is right on anything.) RESIST!

Could it be both Tramp and scientists are correct and both have contributed to the extent of the fires? What’s up with all the this or that? Besides, we all know Tramp is tweeting that way to troll people who don’t like him. He’s like a middle-schooler when he’s not being a toddler. Does that explain his hands?

Middle-schoolers use childish names like ‘Tramp’ and refer to hand size in comment sections on California wildfires. Toddlers use names like ‘Donny-{something nasty}’.

            Tramp is worse than libtard.

Pulling out the hypocrite card because you have to take a swing at polar instead of condemning Planet again?

He makes a point of trying to make it popular, and uses it literally any time he says Trump’s name.

I do not believe Polar calls people libtards by the way, I’m pretty sure that’s agent.

i would be a hypocrite if i called out Planet for calling the president Tramp as I never once called out Polar for calling the past president Obola.

Bob – putting aside the fact that any form of “retard” is a horrible thing to call someone, shouldn’t we be focusing less on “which insulting nickname is worse than the other” and more on the fact that nobody should be resorting to childish name-calling in the first place?

For decades now, folks have been building in areas where there is heavy brush-places outside of the flat easy to develop areas that were built up in the years prior to the 70’s. Once that building happened in earnest, you started to hear about more wildfires.
Simply put, there are many areas where people live because living in Ca is so popular that all the safe and easy places were taken long ago so they build where they shouldn’t
People start the fires by accident or on purpose-rarely is it by a lightning strike. And if the gov’t didn’t allow for development in places where it shouldn’t occur, then the brush fires would be few and far between.

This is actually a conversation we have had in the insurance industry going back well over 20 yrs. Way back before global warming was even a word or thought, before brush was mitigated and defensible space was understood by most people we were talking about the increased hazard of fires because in part environmental groups would not even as much let you rake a leaf. Seriously, allot could be prevented by clearing all those dead trees killed by bark beetles (over 140 Million) and mitigating some defensible space. Also there has been a massive growth of people and development into rural areas with further increases risk. So to say climate change is the sole culprit and yell the sky is falling is just wrong. You have to look at this holistically. There are allot of working parts here, not to mention most of these fire are man made whether intentionally or in-intentionally.
