Firefighters made quick progress battling a wildfire in Southern California, which is now 25% contained after burning 485 acres in San Bernardino County and prompting evacuations.
The Lake Fire erupted Saturday afternoon north of Crestline and Lake Arrowhead. No injuries or damage to structures have been reported.
Early evacuation orders were lifted on Sunday.
Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the state flew fire suppression missions, and 525 personnel have been assigned to the blaze, according to CalFire.
“Crews continue to focus on strengthening control lines in areas where the fire is still active. The forward rate of spread is stopped,” an update from CalFire states. “Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area remains closed to the public.”
